Frequently asked questions

Which Microsoft Windows versions are still supported?

Using the dates stored here, status calculated for 2026-11-04 shows 12 of 48 tracked Microsoft Windows versions are still in support (11 26H2 (W), 11 26H1 (E), 11 26H1 (W), 11 25H2 (E), 11 25H2 (W), 11 24H2 IoT (LTS), and more). The table above shows the calculated status of every tracked version; retained values may still need vendor confirmation.

What is the newest Microsoft Windows version tracked here?

11 26H2 (W) (latest update 10.0.26300), released 2026-09-29. This is the newest release included here, not necessarily the newest vendor release. Unresolved releases may be omitted while their dates or support status are checked. See the linked vendor source for current releases.

Where do these Microsoft Windows dates come from?

From the vendor sources linked at the top of this page (vendor lifecycle page) and the source entry. Vendors can revise dates, so confirm there before you schedule a migration.

Extended support

Windows 10 reached end of support on October 14, 2025. Organizations can buy Extended Security Updates through Volume Licensing at $61 per device for year one, with the price doubling each year, for up to 3 years (year 3 ends October 10, 2028). Source: Microsoft ESU FAQ, Windows 10 ESU for organizations. Prices and dates change; confirm with the vendor before you plan on it.

Planning notes

Windows 11 gets a feature update each year. Enterprise and Education editions of a feature update get about 36 months of updates, while Home and Pro get about 24 months, which is why rows for the same feature update can end a year apart.

Windows 10 left support on October 14, 2025. For the first time, Microsoft sells Extended Security Updates to home users as well as organizations; the year-one price for businesses is $61 per device, doubling each year after that. ESU buys security fixes only, not new features.

Check your version under Settings > System > About. On Windows 10 the realistic paths are upgrading to Windows 11 on supported hardware, paying for ESU, or replacing the device.

Note: "Not announced" means no confirmed date is shown here; check the linked vendor source. "Ended (no date published)" means the source marks it ended without a date. Dates are compared as calendar days in your own time zone. A published end date counts as the last day of support.

Some values are retained from earlier reviews, and unresolved releases or dates may be omitted. Confirm with the linked vendor source before a purchase or migration decision.
